Conflict is unavoidable. But learning how to minimize and master tense situations can feel like having a paradise machine at your disposal. When we look at the conflicts in a day, they fall into three types: conceptual, executional, and relational in origin.

Each type of conflict must be handled in specific ways to achieve the outcome we want. And, no, the outcome is not just making the conflict go away. The goal of all mature conflict resolution is to grow the relationship and conclude the situation with clarity and a plan.

To experience peace in the midst of chaos and pressure, we have to be anchored…we have to have a solid stance with our feet under us. Even though we’ve been led to believe it, peace is not the absence of conflict. You cannot escape conflict…no matter where you go. And a person who thinks otherwise is still without an anchor. They will be tossed back and forth by the winds of change, opinion, and fear.
